For placement a large number of prospective employers are contacted during the year and efforts are made to invite those companies to visit our college and to conduct campus recruitment. The objective of the T&P Cell is to look for a 100% employment of all the students therefore, it follows policy of ‘One Person One job’. The event featured prominent speakers, Isha Kumar, an interview coach and Jaismita Singh, a seasoned entrepreneur.Mrs. Divya Budhia extended a warm welcome to the guests, setting the tone for an insightful session. Lecture on “Corporate Social Responsibility”
Placement Cell of the College organised a lecture on “Corporate Social Responsibility” for the final year students of the under graduate and post graduate programs. The resource person for the seminar was Ms. Bharti Babutta, Business Analyst at Capital Small Finance Bank Limited. She spoke about the relevance of sharing the corporate rewards with the society through the channel of various endeavours like providing free or subsidized health, education, funding, etc. Ms. Babutta also enlightened the students about the traits that good entities look for in the candidates during the recruitment process and also shared with them the essentials of a good interview. She stressed on the need for girls to be financially independent in present times and encouraged them to design a career path for themselves early in their life. Around 135 students attended the lecture. It was immensely useful for the students seeking to jump into the job market. Placement Drive
In a commendable effort to bolster career opportunities for dynamic students, the Placement Cell of the college organized a Placement Drive on March 7, 2024. Representatives from 11 prominent companies participated, conducting interviews for diverse roles. A staggering turnout of over 300 students engaged in interviews across various posts offered by these companies.Notably, ICICI Bank emerged as a sought-after employer, with a significant number of students vying for positions within the renowned financial institution. Among the 42 candidates interviewed, 26 exhibited exceptional potential and were shortlisted for the subsequent written test. From this pool, 22 students advanced to the online aptitude test and a final interview conducted via the Zoom platform.The culmination of this rigorous selection process witnessed 17 outstanding candidates receiving coveted offer letters from ICICI Bank. Mr. Himanshu, representing NIIT, the firm overseeing recruitments for ICICI Bank, presented the offer letters. This pivotal moment unfolded in the esteemed presence of the college’s Principal,Prof. Dr Pooja Prashar, and the dedicated in-charges of the Placement Cell.

To inculcate career oriented skills among the students, the Placement Cell of PCM SD College for Women, Jalandhar organized webinar on the topic ” How to get your Dream Job?” The Resource Person of the webinar was Vishal Verma, the Personality Development Coach, International Ilets Trainer, National Debate Champion.
Addressing the students, the resource person shared with them the most valuable tips on preparation for job-interviews, building up confidence and positive attitude, sharpening communication skills and stay focused. He further stressed upon the SWOT analysis of the self on the part of the job-aspirants in order to ascertain their strengths and weaknesses and thereby build a successful career. Speaking during the event, the worthy Principal of the college Dr. (Mrs.) Pooja Prashar said that the conduct of such skill-oriented programs is in accordance with the vision of the college Management which is highly sensitized towards the empowerment of women of the region through affordable and job -oriented education. She encouraged the students to participate actively and vigorously in such training programs being planned by the college from time to time for their better placement in the job market.

Speaker was Mr. Sukrut Bhushan, Public Speaker, Training Coach and Educator, SSB Institute, Mumbai. He informed the students about the details on methods to attain government jobs in various sectors. He also gave the tips on how to face and crack the interview for government jobs and informed the students about the upcoming opportunities in the government sector. More than 50 students were benefitted from the workshop. Placement Co-ordinator, Mrs. Renu Tandon, and other members of the Placement Cell were also present. A webinar on “How to Build Long Term Wealth in Stock Market?” was organised by the placement cell in association with Campus.in. Mr. Vanesh Sharma from Campus.in was the speaker who apprised the students about the basics of stock market and how one can make money by having proper knowledge of its operations. The speaker told the students that trading in stock market requires one to understand various techniques and charts as it is quite technical thing, against the popular notion that compares it to betting. The webinar made the students aware of the importance of sarting to save and invest early in their life.

Placement Cell of Prem Chand Markanda S.D. College holds “Career Pe Charcha” in association with Team Career Launcher, Jalandhar. Mr. Rajvir singh Chohan, Centre Head, Career Launcher Jalandhar was the main speaker for the day and he was accompanied by Mr. Aditya, Centre Manager, Career Launcher Jalandhar. He started his lecture by telling the students about the importance of career and career goals. Then he elaborated on the classification of various careers according to the academic aptitude of the learner. He explained in detail the process and requiremnets of celebrated career options like UPSC, MBA, etc. and also offbeat career options like designing, sports, etc. He also mentioned the importance of reading newspapers and good books for getting successful in life and staying away from useless information that is available on internet, which leads to wastage of precious learning hours. He gave numerous examples of young achievers from various fields and encouraged the students for doing the hard work by tellinh their inspirational stories. The lecture was very useful and informative. Final year students of B. Com, BCA, BSc Non-Medical, BSc FD and B.A.B.Ed. attended it. A small quiz was also held in which students participated with zeal. Members of the Placement Cell along with the Incharge, Mrs. Renu Tandon, attended the seminar. A visit to ADC office was organised by the placement cell of the college for enrolment in stock Exchange. 40 post graduate students of M.Sc. (F.D.), M.Sc. (IT), M.Sc. (Computer science) and M. Com were sent for the same.
A workshop on ‘Resume Writing and Interview Skills’ was organised by Training & Placement Cell of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalndhar on 11.05.22 at 11.40 a.m. in the college auditorium. Mr. Pradeep from IBT Institute, Jalandhar was the speaker while Mr. Gurcharan from IBT assisted in organising the event. The expert informed the students about why it is necessary to prepare for the interview. Then a step by step guide to generating a good performance in the interview was provided by the expert. Various prospective questions and their logical and impressive answers were shared with the audience. A couple of mock interviews were also conducted to give the students a live demonstration and a taste of the actual environment. Students were also given tips for writing a powerful resume. Mrs. Renu Tandon, Incharge, and other members of the Training & Placement Cell were also present.
