Scholarships, Stipends & Fee Concessions for College Students

Liberal Fee Concession and scholarships are granted by the college to the economically weak and academically deserving students. The facility of payment in installments is also provided on merit – cum – need basis. To avail these scholarships, the meritorious students/needy students have to apply in writing on the prescribed form available in the college office by the dates that will be intimated during the session.

Government Scholarships

  • State Government gives scholarship to the poor and deserving students to promote the standard of education. The students may apply under the following schemes:
  • Post Matric Scholarship to the student belonging to scheduled caste (SC) and OBC as per Punjab State Government norms (only to those castes which are available on the welfare website of Punjab Government).

Students can also apply for following scholarships at their own end:­

  •  Scholarship to minority groups (Sikhs, Muslims, Christians, Jains, Parsi)
  • Indra Gandhi Single Girl Child Scholarship to the first year Post Graduate students.
  • Scholarship to the students of Sanskrit by Rashtriya Sansthan, deemed university under the ministry of HRD.

Eligibility Conditions for Post Matric Scholarship

  • The annual income of the student’s parents/guardians must not exceed Rs. 2.5 Lakhs for SC and Rs. 1 Lakh for OBC.
  • The Affidavits regarding income submitted by the parents must be in original and attested by the Executive Magistrate
  • Employed parents are required to obtain income certificate from their employers.
  • Photocopies of the last examination passed, caste certificate and Aadhaar Card are to be submitted.
  • Photocopy of the student’s Bank account with full details of Bank Branch and IFSC code.
  • Student must be a permanent resident of Punjab.

Non-Government Scholarships

Non-Government organisations also provide financial assistance to the students selected as per the Criterion laid down by them.

Conditions for Fee Concessions :

  • Fee concession will be permissible on the amount of full fee in the particular course excluding the Examinations, Verification, Migration, Enrollment, Registration, Eligibility Fee or other special Fee charged by the university
  • There will be an additional fee for the practical subjects.
  • Concession, Stipends and Scholarship of all Categories are liable to be withdrawn if a student fails in the house tests, remains irregular in attendance or is found guilty of misbehaviour inside or outside the college.
  • In case of more than one concessions, only one concession will be considered, whichever, is the highest.
  • Concession will be permitted once for a course/class. Failed candidate will not be considered for any fee concession.
  • In case a student migrates or leaves the college in the mid-session, she will be required to pay back the amount of concession.
  • In streams, having more practical subjects like Fashion Designing, scholarship will be awarded subject to maximum limit as decided by the Scholarship Committee.
