PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, celebrated Holi with grandeur and eco-consciousness
by organizing Phoolon Ki Holi, an initiative promoting sustainability and cultural heritage. Organized
in collaboration with the Youth Club, Central Association, and the Department of Home Science,
the event replaced synthetic colors with fragrant flower petals, adding elegance and
environmental responsibility to the festivities.
The celebration commenced with the traditional Holi Tilak ceremony, followed by a vibrant floral
shower where students playfully tossed petals, embracing the festival in a natural and skin-
friendly manner. Enthralling dance performances further electrified the atmosphere, spreading joy
and togetherness.
Highlighting the significance of Phoolon Ki Holi, Principal Dr. Pooja Prashar emphasized its roots in
Vrindavan and Barsana, where Holi is played with flowers in reverence to Lord Krishna and Radha.
She noted that this eco-friendly alternative prevents water wastage and reduces the harmful
effects of synthetic colors, making it a safe and responsible celebration.
President Shri Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Shri Vinod Dada, esteemed members of the
Managing Committee and the worthy Principal extended warm wishes to students and faculty.
They lauded the organizing teams for promoting an initiative that blends tradition, environmental
consciousness, and festive joy.
With its colorful yet sustainable approach, the celebration beautifully captured the spirit of
Holi—unity, joy, and positivity, leaving behind cherished memories and a message of responsible
festivities.
