The Department of Dance of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), successfully organised a National Webinar on the topic ‘Yog, Kathak and Instrument’. The enlightening session was held to explore the intersection of classical dance, yogic practices, and instrumental music — a confluence that reflects the holistic ethos of Indian performing arts.

The resource person for the webinar was Dr. Amit Kumar Chauhan, a distinguished Naturopath and Yogacharya associated with Kathak Kendra, New Delhi. Dr. Chauhan shared profound insights into how Yoga and Kathak are not merely physical disciplines but are deeply rooted in spiritual and artistic expression. He also elaborated on the role of musical instruments in enriching the aesthetic and meditative aspects of dance performances.

The session highlighted the therapeutic dimensions of Kathak and Yog, shedding light on their relevance in contemporary wellness and mental health practices. The resource person also discussed innovative approaches to integrating these traditional forms in modern pedagogy and performance.

The webinar witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and dance enthusiasts.
