An Insight

Inspired by the zeal of spreading higher education among women, Devi Sahai S.D. Education Board founded S.D. College for Women on 3rd  August, 1973. The great philanthropists  and  educationists  like  Pt.Prem  Chand  Markanda,  Pt.  Dharam  Pal Dada, Seth Rup Chand Budhia, Lala Shiv Nath Khanna laid the foundation of the college which made rapid progress and developed into a big educational centre of higher learning in a short span of time. Late Pt. Prem Chand Markanda, the founder Secretary  of  the  College  Managing  committee  rendered  selfless  service  to  this splendid and distinguished institution of prestige. Owing to his relentless efforts, that knew no bounds, the college has managed to scale insurmountable accomplishments in the area of academics. Post his death in 1992, the institution was renamed as PCM SD to pay homage to this man worthy of remark in an attempt to eternalize his contribution. With its’ across the board courses and well-integrated curriculum in sync with the current epoch facilitating comprehensive learning and in keeping up

with the burgeoning pace of technological boom under the able tutelage of its acclaimed  and  industrious  faculty, the  institution  has been rated  among  the  top educational institutions of the region. It has the distinction of being accredited with Grade-A+ by National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC) for quality education.

PCM SD has evolved over decades into a gateway to supereminence by becoming one of the most sought after institutions engrossed in nurturing the inquisitive side of its learners fashioned into a quest for knowledge and awakening.
