Introduction

Department of History was established in the year 1974. Since its dawn, the department significant changes in the perception of Indian history. This department helps students to understand the significance of human events and providing quality and innovative education. This department is renowned for the quality of its teaching. Department is keen to evolve new pedagogical tools. To implement this the department is using Films and Documentaries and audio video materials. The department continuously promoting participatory method of learning and organizes seminars, quiz competitions, group discussion and open discussions to train students. It regularly organizes tours to historical places, museums and tourist destinations to promote and inculcate research activities amongst them. Besides, a career in academics like teaching and research, our faculty helps to prepare students for government services including civil services and develop skills in investigation, analysis, writing. The faculty has been proficient to impart inputs so as to encourage all round personality development. The aim of department is to help the students to become good academicians, administrators, parliamentarians, politicians, writers, lawyers, journalists and leaders.
