Introduction

The  department  of  dance  is established  in  year  1997-98  with U.G.course.The purpose of introducing  dance in  college is to  inculcate  the  confidence  of  learning  this  art  form ,how to face  audience , build  confidence and  prepare  students  for  self employment.  The  motivated  facity  helps  students  to  excel in  different  horizons  of Dance  , Keeping  this  view  in  mind ADD  ON  DANCE has  also  being  introduced  in  year  2016-17  so  that  the  students  of  different  streams can also  learn various forms of dances and excel  in  this  field ,

Highlights


  • Talent hunt was organized by department. Students of various streams participated and got 1st and 2nd  and 3rd Samartha of B.A. 1st anchal got 3rd prize, Simran B.A. B.Ed got 1st prize. Surbhi , B.A. B.Ed got 2nd prize.
  • A workshop with Spic- Macay being organized by the department from 10th to 14th October, from 9 A.M. till 12 Noon. Shri Vishal Kathak taught students about the basics of kathak, some technique like toras, salami, and stuti also. Students of PCM S.D. collegiate learned and performed.
  • A workshop on make-up is organized by the department on 10-11-2021 by Ms. Apeksha topic was (Make-up and hair styling) specially for the students of youth festival team. Each students learn how to put make-up and do hair styling for dance.
  • An online patriotic dance is organized by the department on the occasion of 15th August departmental students performed on this dance.
  • Youth festival held from 12th to 15 Nov. Students participated for classical dance. Samartha got 2nd position.
  • Department of dance organized inter class quiz competition on 20-04-22. Students of dance department participated in it.
  • On 29th April 2022 on the eve of international Dance Day students gave a performance on “Save Soil”.
  • On 1st April 2022’ on the occasion of Fete a “Sufi Kathak” dance department performed by the students of dance.
  • On 14th May 2022 on the occasion of farewell students of dance performed bhangra
